Inserted Image URLs

The ability to insert images into Smartsheet cells is fantastic!

If you use an external service to connect to Smartsheet (ODBC, MS Power BI, Tableau, etc.) the image shows as "image-name.jpg". Would it be possible for it to show as the full URL to the image hosted on Smartsheet (AWS)? This would allow external services to display the image on dashboards, reports, etc.

I have the same probleem in the SmartSheet app on my iPad: it does not show the picture in the cell, only the title is this a bug?

Related issue: a read only published report of my release notes, incl. in-cell pictures/screenshots, does not show the pictures in a web browser (IE or Chrome). How can I share my screensots?

Rob - the iOS app was just updated (late last week) to support images in the grid. Try updating the Smartsheet app on your iPad.

I just tested a published report containing images and I was able to view images in the published version.

Could you try again in Chrome?

Travis, i updates the new iOS app. What i noticed is that clicking on the picture brings me (owner) in the edit mode, with a mini picture, instead if an enlarged version of the thumbnail..

i dont want want to edit the picture, only want to see it, most preferable in full screen.

That is the current functionality. I agree it would be nice to view the imaga full screen - I will pass your feedback along to the Mobile team.

For now, images attached to rows can be viewed full screen.

The image upload appears to be useless unless specifically viewing in SmartSheets. Aside from 3rd party connectors, exports to excel also just show up as the imageName.jpg. The only way I see possible to do this currently is attach to the row, open the attached image in a new tab, copy the long url, and paste it into the cell. However, this way doesn't display the image. In this case there should be way to display image urls as images. Is there any formula to display image as url or vise versa to achieve this?

Additionally, it would be nice to be able to add an image from a smartsheets webform. Does't seem possible either only a URL.

Please implement this. I'd like to see the full URL and not image name. This would also be especially useful when viewing cell history. The image title is of no help.
