Best way to append text in a cell?

Hello,

We have a project tracking sheet into which people will be adding status updates to a particular cell.  Is there a way to easily append the text to the previous text so we can retain history?

People can use "Alt-Enter" to create a new line but then cells get very large.

Is comments the best way to do this?

People will be entering text both via form and directly into the sheet.

Entering via a form will always create a new row. To maintain cleanliness within the sheet, I recommend using row or sheet level comments. This also opens the capabilities of the @ function within the comment to get someone's attention.

Thanks much, Paul!  I am relatively new to SS and didn't realize we could @ to alert people to comments. I'll be putting that in my QRG for the users.
