Reports with Viewers

I would like to know if there is a way that viewers of the main sheet are able to work with the Reports. I know I can share the report but it seems they are not able to change the "What" choices.

If this is not an option, would it work if I lock the columns and share the worksheet? Then would a collaborator be able to run different options of the report?

Hi Lori,

The collaborator has to be an Admin or Owner of the report to modify the report builder criteria.

Hi Lori—

If you're only working off of one sheet, you might consider having your viewers create their own "unnamed" filters: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/504659-using-filters-to-show-or-hide-sheet-data

(You can also create a few shared filters for common criteria.)

Otherwise, you'll need to give them Admin access to the report. If you need them to be able to edit sheet data from the report, you'll need to give them Editor access to the source sheets.

Your instinct is right on locking columns or rows, as Editors can't make changes to locked cells. You can lock columns and rows manually: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/522077-locking-unlocking-columns-and-rows

I have a Pro plan but I cannot create ANY reports. The system does not allow me to choose a folder, and consequently a sheet to create a row report and suggests an upgrade to Business or Enterprise.
