Referencing other sheets
Hello,
I have a sheet where I want to add totals in 7 other sheets for January - December for several drugs.
When I get to February, it tells me I am at the max for references. I think it was 15.
We have 7 squads...each squad seizes many drugs per month. I am trying to get the grand total of the drugs for all 7 squads for each month. I had a listing of drugs and then tried to add the squad totals to that.
Is there an easier way to do this?
Thanks!
Cheryl

You may need to run the totals for each squad and then add those together.

Ok thank you...I think you are right!

I personally find it's more helpful doing it this way anyway. If there is ever an issue with any data, it is much easier to drill down on the problem if your pieces are spread out a bit.

Hello,
I wanted to chime in on this thread to help explain the cross-sheet reference limit. Each sheet can include no more than 100 distinct cross-sheet references. There's also a limit of 25,000 inbound cells that can be referenced from other sheets into one sheet in total.
Duplicate references do not count against the distinct cross-sheet reference limit, but if you were to change the name of the reference or the range of cells being referenced, this would count as a new distinct cross-sheet reference.
If you're referencing 25,000 cells, Paul's suggestion would help reduce the number of cells you're referencing.
If needed, more information on this can be found in our help article: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2476606-formulas-reference-data-from-other-sheets
