Task end date as a function of resource availability

Hi community,

 

I'm seeking to calculate a task end date as a function of resource availability.

Say a task completion depend on a resource availability and productivity. How can I calcualte a task end date given a resource availability.

 

Here's a simple example to illustrate :

Task : Writing a 1000 pages documents

The task is assigned to a writer with a 10 pages per day productity.

 

How can I calculate the task end date, taking into account any period of the resource will not be dedicated to his/her task. (holidays, training etc.).

You can't use a project sheet and do this, but it can be done. Project setting make it so you can't use formulas on start date end date duration or predecessors.

The words to explain how to do this escaped me, so take a look at this and see if it helps you.
