Freeze Rows?

Seems pretty basic, hard to understand the slow pace of enhancements on basic features.

Please add a vote for me on this question as well.  Hard to understand why the functionality to freeze columns is included, but not rows.  It would be very helpful, and is sorely needed.

I am new to this community, so am looking for some info on how this request process works.  I saw that the first request in this thread was made in June 2015.  Is there any information available re: if this feature will be added, and if so, when?

Russ - Freeze row is not on our near term road map and I dont have a timeframe I can provide but we are aware that users are requesting this. Here is a list of items we are currently working on:  https://www.smartsheet.com/product-roadmap

A workaround for me was to use hierarchy. I wanted to freeze the top row, so I made it the parent and everything underneath a child. It works ( ie, sorting doesn't mess the layout up anymore) but seems like an odd workaround.

@ Mike, thanks for the suggestion.  I'd dont know that we want to go through the exercise of making each item on this sheet a child of the top row, but I can see where that is at least an option.

Add my vote (and my 10 employees' votes, too) for wanting to freeze rows. 

 

These sheets get really unmanageable when you get several hundred rows tall...
