Adding Rows in a sheet

edited 12/09/19 in Smartsheet Basics

When adding rows to a sheet, why does the Dashboard graphs not recalculate the graphs with the new rows?  Seems the only way to fix this is to back in the graph and select the new data rows.  Am I doing something wrong?

I can think of two solutions. Reference the entire columns, or split the information out into a report, then reference the report for the chart.

I'm having the same issue with the reports not refreshing from the sheets. I opened a ticket and this is what I got back.

"Thanks for contacting Smartsheet Support.  We understand you have a report that is not refreshing after you update your sheet.  We are happy to assist.

We are aware of an issue that began yesterday where reports are not loading or not returning the correct data from a users sheets.  A fix was implemented yesterday, but are seeing that some customers have continued to experience an issue.

Unfortunately you cannot reference entire columns when building a Chart Widget on a Dashboard. I wish we could.

The report solution though should work. I have used this myself a few times.

The report issue of them not updating and pulling the wrong data has been an on and off issue for a while now. It's not as bad or as frequent as it used to be, but it seems like there are still a few bugs to get worked out.
