Having issues with my reports where the dropdown options that I want to update (in the report) are not functional. I see that this has been a bug before and am wondering if it is happening again/if there is a work around?

Do you think this might be something to do with permissions?
Is it you, the owner/creator that cannot update the values in the dropdown once the report has run? Do you have Editor permissions on the underlying source sheet?
