Need text box to show only if OTHER is chosen from dropdown

I need for a text box to appear only if "OTHER" is chosen from the dropdown menu.ย Can a field (text box) be hidden unless OTHER is chosen?

Hi Kitty,
Unfortunately, no it can't be hidden but depending on your need it could be shown in another color or similar ifย otherย is chosen.
Would that help/work?๏ปฟ
Have a fantastic week!

Andree, I'm following this thread because I'm trying to do something similar. My drop down list criteria in my form are the following "Acceptable" "Unacceptable" and "N/A". I want to have some sort of rule (?) that if "unacceptable" is selected, the user must add a comment. I'm not sure if this solution is the same for me as the original poster. Can you advise?

Excellent!

Hi Hilary,
It's a little different when it's in I form because currently,ย Smartsheet doesn't have anyย functionality for conditional logic in forms.ย
There are a few workarounds.
- An update request gets sent automatically for them to add the comment.
- Use a third-party integration like Google Formsย becauseย it has the possibility for conditional logic.
- Add a clear description in the form thatย they need to add a comment if unacceptable is selectedย but if they don't the update request would send and prompt them to update with a comment.
Would any of those options work?

Thanks! It seems that the third option would be best. So would this require me to add an additional text field for every question in the form? Currently there are quite a few questions and it is already a long form to scroll through.

Happy to help!
I'd add the text in the bottom of the form and maybe addย a checkbox or dropdownย list where they can select that they've added the comment or that no comment is needed or similar.
Would that work?
