Needing the Resource View in Dashboard (Sights)

Am wanting to include the resource view in the Dashboard (Sights) but the widgets don't allow the inclusion of the Resource Management Views. Will there be one and one and if not, are there any other options including a smartsheet specific to calculating resource allocations much like the resource management view?

Good suggestion! I will add your vote for this request!

As a workaround, you could export your resource views to Excel, import them into Smartsheet then build a report based off that sheet. That report can be viewed in the Sight. To update it, just copy and paste data from the Excel file to the sheet you created from the original import.

People have been asking for further development of the resource view for years now. Why does nothing happen? Many people ask for an overview with months (or weeks) instead of days.

This is a major shortcoming and should be addressed. If you are not going to develop this yourselves you should partner with somebody who does a more robust resource management process. Smartsheet markets heavily as a project management solution, and not being able to visualize where your resources (people, trucks, equipment, etc) are, and who is available, is very important. So important in fact, that we may have to find another solution in order to get this. Look at Ganttic, this is what you need to parther/build into Smartsheet, pronto.

I agree with this suggestion. This is really a shortcoming on Smartsheet's side. I think this would be a beneficial view to show in a dashboard. Especially if you are using your dashboard as a one stop shop for your team.

I agree. I would like this functionality. I am currently creating resource charts and heat maps in excel. Would love to use the functionality in smartsheets with the resource management capabilities.

Yes.. this is a necessity for us, as well as the ability to assign user groups to projects.
