When a task is complete ahead of schedule the dependent tasks start date is not brought forward
Hello
i have tasks a,b,c - all tasks are 2 days in duration
task 'b' is dependent on 'a', and task 'c' id dependent on 'b'
task 'a' was scheduled to start on 1/1/16, but it was started earlier and so it was marked complete on 31/12
how do i set it up so that task 'b' now slides along to 31/12 showing it is available to start, and equally how task 'c' slides along to its start 2 days after the new start date for task 'b'?
Can anyone help please
Thanks
Alan Russell

I believe you can make the dependency finish to start. It is probably start to finish.

Alan,
I've ranted about this before
https://community.smartsheet.com/discussion/complete-and-durations
For some projects, I have added a column that checks if % Complete is 100% and Due Date / End Date / Finish is in the past, usually by more than a day or two.
I set up an Alert (Notification) to send an email if that happens.
And then I decide if I want to fix the schedule or just let the next task owner know they can start. It is very likely that they already know.
