Notifications or Alerts based on Conditions
The more and more I use Smartsheet the more I am becoming disappointed with the lack of features for something that has been around as long as it has.
We recently chose to use Smartsheet and as long as we keep it very basic, Smartsheet is a "good" tool. I tried to use it for some basic excel things this weekend and almost threw my computer out the window.
I am trying to see if Smartsheet can do the following;
I want to setup a type of ticket tracking system in which it's broken down by time periods.
If a ticket is created on a specific day and is not closed within 3 days it sends an alert or notification to certain people, if the ticket is not closed by 7 days it sends alerts or notifications to certain people, and if it is not closed by day 14 etc..
I'm thinking this is out of the scope of what Smartsheet can do, if it's not then I would love to hear more.
I'm just starting to think that Smartsheet is great for very basic stuff but nothing very flexible. It's a great supplimentary tool.

Hi Sinema,
Yes, it's possible.
I'd recommend setting it up with automation and different condition paths, starting with the last time period because the condition paths trigger on the first that is true.
Would that work?
Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)
Have a fantastic weekend!

I agree that it can be frustrating - at times you need to create a zig-zag rather than a straight line to the end goal, but, stick with it and you will see the rewards! The platform as a whole continues to grow and develop over time.

Yes, SmartSheet has some incredible capabilities and some major missing components. Overall, it has been incredibly useful for our company.
