Embed countdown in Smartsheet

I would like to embed a countdown for Go-Live into my project dashboard. Any idea?

On a blank SmartSheet use three cells. In the first cell use formula:

=TODAY())

In second cell enter GoLive date

In third cell use formula:

='Cell2' - 'Cell1'

(E.g. =[Column3]1 - [Column2]1)

Then, on your dashboard, follow the below process in the image...

and there you have it, a count down to the GoLive date.

Hi,

To add to Lachlan's suggestion. The sheet with the counter has to be "Activated" for the counter to update. 

Activated= Something needs to change and be saved on the sheet.

I wonder too if there is a way to use the URL widget to display an actual countdown timer from another app or website...?

 

This would help avoid the drawbacks of the TODAY() function.

Potentially the Web Widget could be used for that, but the domain has to be approved.

Maybe it could work with an approved domain that has a possibility for embedding.

I think that it maybe could work with Google Slides, MS PowerPoint, Prezi, or similar.

Would that work?
