Auto-populating between two sheets

I am currently working on creating some sort of link or equation, that could allow me to create a "directory" sheet where the names in the primary column could be linked to another sheet so that all the names would automatically become options in a drop-down box for another sheet.

Is this possible at all, or is this a function that is too complicated for Smartsheet at the moment?

Not quite, but you could set up a vlookup table to bring in all the names (as long as it's not a contact column) based on the group they belong to... i.e.:

Lookup sheet:

A_Team
- Arthur
- Anne
B_Team
- Beth
- Bruce

Then in the first sheet:

=VLOOKUP( [Group Name]@row, {sheet reference}, [Group Name]@row, 2, false)

Hi,

There are third-party options available, and below you have an instruction to a workaround I created.

Here is a workaround that gives you the possibility to use lists of information and choose from that list inside a sheet (doesn't work with mobile, only desktop)

I'm utilizing cell-linking for this workaround. The main sheet is linked to the dropdown/list sheet.
