COUNIFS formula when multiple contacts

Ok.

It works if there isn't an email connected to the contact. Strange!

That's odd. For me it doesn't matter whether there is an email connected to the contact or not, but whether or not the option for multiple contacts has been turned on.

 

I used a contact type column named "Email" to test this. Email1 was a contact that has a connected email. Email2 was a contact without a connected email. Email3 was a fake email address that was not a contact.

I then used a checkbox column with the following:

 

=COUNTAINS(Email@row, Email:Email)

.

This should check the box for all three rows. The box would check or uncheck based on whether or not the option for multiple contacts was checked or unchecked. Having an email connected made no difference for me.

As for being a spoiler free zone... It must be allowed since it didn't trigger the infamous Cloudfare Block.

Strange indeed!

What is this new COUNTAINS function? Never heard of it.  Does it COUNT and CONTAIN at the same time? 

I'll test again, could be a delay so want to make sure.
