Hide source sheet of a report but still allow users to input information into the report
I'd like to find out if there is a way to allow shared users to make edits to a report, but never be able to access the source sheet the report is generated from.
Right now, it seems like I have to give users access to both sheets at the same permissions level but I only want them to be able to access the report and not the source sheet. When i share only the link to the report, the source sheet they are shared with also shows in their shared sheet window and they can access that as well.

Yes, at the base level you have to give users access to everything. Smartsheets sells an additional product called Dynamic View that will allow you to do what you're asking about. Giving variable level access to different products.

This has been requested for years, and I have submitted a feature request as well. It would be incredibly useful.
A possible solution would be to have a Hidden sheet option, alongside Editor and Viewer. This would be set by the Admin or Owner and perhaps an Editor that has sharing rights.

Hi,
I agree with Mike.
I'd also recommend the premium Add-on Dynamic View. It's excellent!
Would that work?
Have a fantastic day!

The reason why this useful functionality is not available in the Business or Enterprise license is to encourage sales of Dynamic view, which is a commercial decision Smartsheet have taken because it works really well for the major players with bigger budgets. But not everyone has budget for at least an extra $5k plus pa.
So you either try some fancy design workarounds which all come with their own issues or you can try one of our Smarter Mini Control Centre solutions called "Smarter workflow Manager" which automagically, on a data trigger, copies a row to a different sheet (which can be shared to the Report user) and any subsequent updates in either sheet are synchronised automatically. We have had great feedback from clients on this feature. There is a cost but at $100 pm no limit on volume.
We do appreciate most users wont have a budget for this "Extra" but for those that do, welcome to a demo.

BUT Dynamic view does not hold groupings/formatting/summarizing of data

I was not aware of that limitation. I would make a request here
We are one of those small companies that don't have the budget for Dynamic View.
