Is there a way to password protect a portal without making someone sign up to have an account with Smartsheet or making the link public?

Unfortunately, as far as I know, it's not possible at the moment natively, but it's a great idea!
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.
As a workaround, you could use another service like Google Sites or similar to place the portal behind a password there.

I have an automated workflow what has a step, 'request and update.' The step shows ALL FIELDS, but when the actual request is sent to the end user, there are no fields displayed. Hi - we use Smartsheet as a workflow tool and saw a mass update of data on 7/21 which changed a lot of the workflow completion dates in our report. Any idea why this happened on how to prevent it in the future?
