Share a report without sharing sheet (grid)
Hello,
I have the following Problem, hope somebody can help.
I want to share a report with some of my project members, but they should not have access to the initial database in the sheet (grid).
The report must still be active and allow the members to change status of some collumns. This change should be shwon in die initial database.
Any ideas how to resolve this?

In order for members to make changes in the report they have to be shared to the sheet. I do not know of any workaround for this.
If you just want to update them with the report content, you can schedule the report to be e-mailed to them as a pdf or excel version. They don't need sheet nor report access with this option.

Ella is correct that they need to be able to edit the sheet if they are going to edit through a report.
To share them to a view only live version of the report, you can publish it and send them the published link. This will give them the ability to view the report data without having access to the underlying sheet(s).
Again... This will not give them access to EDIT though. They need access to edit the underlying sheet(s) for that.

Hi,
Would it work as a workaround to use Update Requests instead? Another option could be the premium add-on, Dynamic View. Is that an option?
Can you describe the process in more detail?
Hope that helps!
Have a fantastic week!

How many years is this going to continue unaddressed? And no one wishes to look into Dynamic Views...
