Hi,
I have a list of adresses and would like to send an update request but without giving this person the rights to view the whole sheet.
Any ideas how to make this?
Thanks, Joachim
Hi Joachim,
If you send update requests they only get access to what you decide to be available in the request.
Would that work?
Hope that helps!
Have a fantastic week!

Hi Andrée,
thanks for your kind reply to my question.
Unfortunately I have to give them access to the sheet minimum as a reader.
Without the access right they do not get the update request mail.
This means, that the form does what you describes, but they can open and read the whole sheet if they click the link they got in the footer of the update request mail.
Best wishes, Joachim
Happy to help!
It should work and if they aren't shared with the sheet they won't be able to access it.
Can you check the settings in my attached screenshots? Are your's set up the same?

Did it work?
Hi Andrée,thanks for your great help.
Unfortunately "unrestricted" is disabled by system admin :-(
best wishes, Joachim
I'm always happy to help!
I'll get back to you if I think of a workaround of some kind.
Andrée
As a possible workaround, you could send out manual update requests.
Would that work/help?
Fine, this helps me for individual updates.
What I dis was an extra flag column and a worflow to send an update request to a certain email in another column if the flag is set.
This gave me the possibility to check the flags some lines and send all of them update requests if I save this sheet.
Because I have only a fes wlines your workaround is perfect and enough for me, because it sends update requests without the need to give them access to the sheet.
Thanks!
Excellent!

Notifications are sent out when the termination goes live, one week after the termination date (if that department's tasks still aren't checked off as done), and two weeks after the termination date…
Does sharing a sheet with edit or view rights immediately require the shared user to have a paid license, effectively making them a group member? This seems to be occurring. In contrast, can I confirm that sharing a link using the 'publish' feature will not require a license since the user is only accessing that specific…
I have provisional users who, under the legacy model, were unlicensed users with editing permissions for workspaces. I’ve now changed their role to "viewers" and assigned editing permissions to specific workspaces, aiming to maintain the same editing experience as before. However, they cannot edit fields within tasks or…
