I am sending out alerts based on a cell being changed. I would like to customize the email that gets sent to include a link to a related dashboard. Is there a way to make this a hyperlink that can just be clicked to take them to that dashboard?
There are 2 ways. First is the way I don't regularly recommend, which is to publish the dashboard. When looking at the dashboard there is an icon that looks somewhat like a globe. If you select this icon and turn on one of the options in the popup, it will give you a url. This url can be used by anyone, there is not a logon required. Only do this if the information is not sensitive.
The second way is to hit the share button. At the very bottom of the popup (Provided you have shared the dashboard with someone) there will be a url. You can send this url to different people, and smartsheet will require them to be logged into the program when it is used.
I'm actually looking for a way to put a hyperlink in a workflow alert - regardless of where that link leads. Just in my specific case it will lead to a dashboard...
Hi Wendy,
Is it the same link or would it be different for each row?
I hope that helps!
Have a fantastic day!

For this use it would be the same everytime.
Then the previous suggestion should work.
Maybe I'm not being very clear so let me give a bit more detail.
I am keeping track of training for our employees. When I assign training (by filling out a cell in a row) an alert is triggered to go to the user. In that email I would like to include a hyperlink that takes them to a location where all the quizzes they need to take are stored. I can obviously just include the ugly, long URL directly in the alert. I would however prefer to have it be a hyperlink. Is there a way to turn text into a hyperlink in an alert?
Ok. Now I follow!
Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment, but it's an excellent idea!
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.
A possible workaround could be to use a so-called link shortener service like bit.ly or similar.
Would that work/help?
I will look into it, thank you! I will also submit an Enhancement Request. Thanks for getting back to me.
I'm always happy to help!
Andrée
Has anyone figured out a way to use a column as a created date but not have the time stamp? It causes problems for my manager trying to use that date to pull into PBI. I know how to convert in a helper column to a year-month and a year, but those have to be text/number columns, not date columns and he can't use those…
I am looking for a way to automate a cell so that when column A displays 9 'Days Open' (or between the values 0-14) the 'Req Age' will auto populate (or trigger) the ranges provided. Image below: I want the highlighted section to auto populate based on the value in 'Days Open'
Good morning, I haven't needed to do this is quit a while but I went to clean up the "Sheets" folder in my account and can no longer create a folder, sheet, or report in any area of that folder. The "Create" button at the top right takes me the templates page. This is what I am seeing vs what I can do within a workspace.…
