Two new functions released (COUNTM & HAS)
Hi everyone,
I noticed that two new functions has been released.
COUNTM and HAS
Here are the details.
COUNTM
Counts the number of elements in a multi-contact or multi-select dropdown column cell or cell range. Returns the total number of elements found.

HAS
Search for an exact match of a value, including multi-contact or multi-select dropdown column cells or ranges. Returns true if found, false if not found.

Like them both! But I would have to say the HAS function is going to be more of a game changer for me than the COUNTM.
Having the two features of being CaSe SeNsItIVe and the ability to look for a very specific text... HAS is a GREAT addition. The example they used is a good one. Searching for "app" won't return a false positive on a cell containing "apple".
What I don't understand is that I was just on the Functions List last week and didn't see them, but they say they were added on the 9th?? How could I have missed those?

Yes, I agree!
Regarding not seeing them:

How can I use the COUNTM and has function in a SUMIFS formula:
=SUMIFS([Per_Person_Total]:[Per_Person_Total], Payor:Payor, "Diane", Payee:Payee, COUNTM(HAS(Payee, "Sofia")))
How can I use COUNTM and HAS in the criteria part of this formula?
-
Hi @DDVL
These are two different functions:
- COUNTM counts how many values are selected
- HAS looks into a multi-select cell to see if it has one specific selection
In your instance it sounds like you just need the HAS function. Try this:
=SUMIFS([Per_Person_Total]:[Per_Person_Total], Payor:Payor, "Diane", Payee:Payee, HAS(@cell, "Sofia"))
Cheers,
Genevieve
