Tool Tip for Status Symbols

Is it possible to show tool tip for status symbols?

 

   

 

While seasoned users in the company know what each symbol (red, greed, blue, yellow) mean, most users are not sure. We need ability to define the tool tip text somewhere as each compnay might have their own interpertation of these colors.

There is no "OnMouseOver" available for tooltips unfortunately.  As a work around, I have put images in the banner that show what my icons represent.

After creating an image that defines your symbols, you can upload it to all sheet in the workspace using the workspace properties(right click).  It ends up in the upper right corner of all sheets in the workspace.

Thanks Brett. This is definitely a quick and easy workaround. But I am hoping SmartSheet can start suporting tooltips.

This is a great idea. The tooltips are already there when you're on the properties of a Symbol column, and you're choosing your symbol set...

For complicated sheets, I create a LEGEND section that explains what the various color coding / conditional formatting means.
I'm going to make sure "symbols" are included.

 

For standard 'legends', this could be a link to another sheet or just a screen shot attachment.

 

 

I like Brett's work-around but I typically see the company logo there for reports and such.

 

Tony, I'm pretty sure the logo is workspace exceptions to the account settings.
