Using an iPad; sheet collapsing every time it saves?
We're trying to use Smartsheet on an iPad to record responses during building audits. Every time I enter data in a cell and navigate away from it, the sheet autosaves; when it does, the entire sheet collapses. The cells are formatted with a drop-down menu so nearly all my data entry is merely choosing from the drop-down. But we do have some fields for entering text. The same thing happens with them.
Having to navigate back through several levels is annoying. Any thoughts on why this is happening and what might be done to stop it? Thanks!

Hi Don,
How is your sheet structured? I've developed client solutions for field workers and they usually use a report or a sheet but in the List View instead because it easier to work with.
Would that work?
Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)
I hope that helps!
Have a fantastic weekend & Happy Holidays!

Thank you for your rapid response and suggestions!
Probably should have shared this in the first post - I am a Free user. My colleagues hold licenses. They have set up the sheet so there are really only two columns I need to edit in the field. There is a column for each fiscal year quarter; each data row has a drop-down menu with three choices. The other column is a text entry field for comments.
We've been working in Grid View. I tried using List View but seem to be unable to make any edits or add info? If you can view the attached screenshot you'll see the basic structure with the drop-down open in row 717.
Appreciate any further comments or suggestions!

Happy to help!
It looks like you should be able to edit that column. What is your sharing permission on the sheet?

To add.
The sheet collapsing is probably because someone else saves it in another view.
Are you using any filters?

My sharing permission is Admin. I did learn how to Edit in List View but it seems to take a lot of clicks - and still collapses when it saves. We are not currently using any filters.
There are only two of us generally using the sheet and we have been working together with only one copy open.
Thanks! dj

How did it go?
I'd be happy to take a look if you're ok with sharing the sheet?
