Date in Dynamic View not editing
Hello,
I have a couple of Dynamic Views where the date columns in the source sheet have the same setup (see figure 1), however one of the dates field in the view is showing as not editable (figure 2):
Figure 1
Figure 2
It's important to note that the setup of the field in the DW it's not as "Read-Only", and the columns in the source sheet are locked.
Any ideas???
thanks!

Hi,
Are you using dependencies? It seems like that could be the reason for it not being editable.
Was that the reason?
Why is a field read-only?
Some fields may not be editable depending on their data type or the information in the cell. The following conditions make a field read-only in Dynamic View:
- Field is from a System Column
- Field is from a Gantt End Date Column
- Field is from a Gantt Predecessor Column
- Cell in source sheet contains a formula
- Cell in source sheet contains an inbound cell-link
- Cell in source sheet contains a Hyperlink
I hope that helps!
Have a fantastic weekend!
Best,

Thanks,
The columns fall under a couple of those conditions, as they are setup using the Project Settings, however l removed these conditions, saved the sheet and reloaded the DW but still the Finish date is coming up as read-only.

Happy to help!
I'd be happy to take a look.
Can you maybe share the Dynamic view and sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s)? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)

@Andrée Starå Following up on this, we removed the dependencies from the column and decided to calculate the duration with a formula instead but still the end date in the DV comes up as read-only:
Any ideas?
- Field is from a System Column - No
- Field is from a Gantt End Date Column - No
- Field is from a Gantt Predecessor Column - No
- Cell in source sheet contains a formula - No, this is the source sheet
- Cell in source sheet contains an inbound cell-link - No
- Cell in source sheet contains a Hyperlink - No

Ok.
Doesn't make sense!

@Andrée Starå Found the culprit and learned something new along the way! Turns out once you select the project settings option you cannot turn it off and you need to select a date regardless, so l created a dummy date column and selected it as the end date and that fixed the issue.
Thanks!

Just encountered this same problem and your solution @Silvia Rangel has saved me the headache. Thank you!

Just ran into this as well. Changing the End Date column on the Project Settings to a different date column worked. Hope this gets fixed within Dynamic Views as it does not affect editable reports and I really don't feel like editing 200+ provisioned grids from Control Center...

Having to use a separate column for dates impacts baseline calculations too.
