Sourcing drop down list
Is it possible to reference a list of cells inside a sheet to use as the dropdown list options in a column?
This way if I have multiple sheets that use the same list of options I can reference that list and if it needs to be updated it only has to be done once rather than at each drop down column?

Hi Ryan,
Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment, but it's an excellent idea!
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment to have your vote added
As possible workaround, you could use a paid add-on. Is that an option?
I hope that helps!
Have a fantastic week!

Hi Ryan, we have an paid app add-on that will allow you to do this, please contact us at solutions@projectplanservices.co.uk,
cheers Dan

There is another solution that utilizes cell linking. It is not able to be used in the mobile app, and you would have to pre-populate rows to allow for new entries, but it is free.

@Paul Newcome, Yes, how could I forget about that one. 😉
@Ryan Fauquier, Paul is thinking about a solution that used as a workaround. I'll get back to the post with the link and more information.

Here it is!
Here is a workaround I've created that gives you the possibility to use lists of information and choose from that list inside a sheet (doesn't work with mobile, only desktop) (maybe could work now with iOS13, haven't tested it yet)
I'm utilizing cell-linking for this workaround. The main sheet is linked to the dropdown/list sheet.
Please see the attached link/screenshot for more information.
Here's a link with a better explanation on how it's done.
Link Reference Sheet Dropdown Could that work?
Hope that helps!
Let me know if you have any questions or if I can help you with anything else!

This question was asked in 2015 and had comments until it was closed a few months ago...
Hopefully, there is a main thread and they are trying to consolidate.
