Bulk upload contacts on Smartsheet
Hi,
I have about 200 contacts in an excel spreadsheet that I would like to import to Smartsheets. So basically add them as a Smartsheet user and to the relevant groups. Is there a quick way to do it? Currently my excel spreadsheet has two columns - full name and email address. Kindly assist!

Hey. Thanks for the prompt response. I actually had reviewed this article but it didn’t really help which is why I asked the question. When I try to import my excel spreadsheet into Smartsheet I get an error message saying it’s not compatible.

Happy to help!
Export from Smartsheet first and then use that for the import.
Did it work?

@Andrée Starå Not really. I am not sure what you are asking me to do exactly. I have an excel spreadsheet with two columns - full name and email address. Can you please provide me with the steps to bulk upload to Smartsheets?

Here's a guide!
The first picture shows you how to download a file that is formatted correctly that you'd use to import the users.
Second screenshot is where you upload the CSV file that you've set up now.
I hope that helps!
Did it work now?

@Andrée Starå I downloaded the user list and see attached the format it came in. Do I now need to replace the existing downloaded data with the new contact list, i.e. populate the name and email column? How about the other columns? Am I required to populate them as well or can I just delete them? Sorry for bombarding you with questions!!
-
@sahilhq, No worries!
Delete the names that are there and add the new ones and fill in the rest as False if you don't want the feature to be active and True for the features that you want to be active.
Make sense?
Have a look here for more details.
