Can a (date) cell be locked once data gets entered thru a Dynamic View???

Hello,

I have been browsing around both the active and archived threads but have not been able to find information even similar to what l'm looking to do: I am trying to have a field (Estimated Start Date) to get locked and show as read-only in a Dynamic View once a date it's entered in the corresponding field by the contractor via a Dynamic View.

Currently l have the Project Settings setup to have the Must Finish by Date show as read-only in the Dynamic View as it will be manually entered in the sheet.

is it possible? I know both the column and the row can be locked but that's not what l need. I also looked into doing it using a field logic in the DV but the specific field was not available so l am running out of ideas ☺

I don't believe a specific field can be locked only the rows and the columns. Sorry.

Is the user creating the initial data in a form? I haven't tried it but you might be able to lock the column, but still allow form entries to populate it. That way when its viewed in Dynamic view it's not editable.

The user will enter the data in a Dynamic View, but if l lock the row they wont be able to edit the rest of the fields and they need to be able to do so, but for this specific date field that once it's locked we dont want them changing it... I figured it couldn't be done with any of the functions but maybe with a formula??? Thanks!

hmm. Yeah, I don't think this feature is available. I suggest submitting a product Enhancement Request.
