Creating another formula using an existing formula from another cell.

Hi. I am trying to create a formula which uses another formula but keep getting an error message. It works if I use the add (+) symbol but returns an error message when I try to times (*) the cells, i.e. the cost total needs to show the hourly rate (which contains a formula) multiplied by the total. Can anyone help please? Thanks in advance.

Try removing the quotes from around your numbers in the Hourly Rate formula.

When you use quotes, it outputs a text string that just looks like a number. Removing the quotes will cause the formula to output a numerical value which van then in turn be used in numerical calculations such as the desired multiplication.
