Update Request - Read-Only fields?

Is there any way to send an update request, but only have certain fields editable?
The issue is that I need to send some contextual info on the update request, but some fields should *not* be changed.
If I only send the update request for the fields that need to be updated, the recipient will not have enough context.
And no I cannot share the entire sheet (external client, a lot of sensitive info on the sheet)

Hi Manu,
If you lock the columns they can’t change the values. (depending on their permissions)
You can also add placeholder information to the message if that helps.
More info:
Make sense?
Would that work?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Hi Andrée
Ah ok so if the column is locked then that should work. I will give that a try.

That did the job! Thanks a bunch.

Actually this only partly solves the problem because I still receive an updated confirmation email with a link to the sheet. And frankly I do not want the client to even receive a link to the sheet, even if I understand without permissions he will not be able to open that link.

Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment to not receive it, but it's an excellent idea!
