Possible to create templates for manual update requests?
Hello,
I am looking to see if it's possible to create a template for manual update requests (when you right-click a row in the sheet and select "Send Update Request"). There are a subset of fields we want to include in the email of the update request and having a template to choose from would save a lot of time.
I looked at this article which shows how to create a workflow for update requests: https://help.smartsheet.com/learning-track/smartsheet-intermediate/update-requests
However, using the automated workflow method, I can't customize what fields display on the form when I send an update request to my team. There are only a few fields I want to include so that my team can action update requests directly from the form.
Thanks.

Hi Jesse,
Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment, but it's an excellent idea!
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment
As a possible workaround, you could create different Workflows depending on what fields you'd want to include.
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Can’t you create a report with just the columns you want, and send the update request from there?

I just had a thought on a workaround for this; you could create an automated workflow with an update request for the specific columns you like, predicated on a checkbox being ticked, and just hide any such checkboxes when not being used to initiate an update request; semi manual, but definitely takes the work out of typing out a message and mucking around selecting/deselecting columns
