Automation - Open Dashboard as a Trigger

I'm trying to ascertain whether I can force (trigger) Smartsheet to open a Dashboard based on a cell being edited in a sheet.

On my Payment Sheet, I have a column that users can select (via Dropdown) to generate a Certificate based on the data in the sheet. The Certificate (Smartsheet Dashboard) formats a number cells including value of claims, invoice number, who the contractor is etc. Currently, the Dashboard is accessible via the normal route on the left hand side.

I am hoping to have a new tab in Chrome open, with the Dashboard which a user can PDF and issue/save/print.

Any thoughts on this? I assume it can't be done.

You're correct: at this time I'm not sure there's a way to do exactly what you're looking for. Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment!

As an alternative, you could potentially have a direct link to the dashboard in a new column next to the drop-down column so that they could click & navigate to the dashboard from within the sheet (or right-click and open in a new tab)... but I think if they had the dashboard pinned in their home navigation that would be just as easy.

I think I'll just leave it so that users can navigate to the dashboard themselves. A hyperlink is good, but as new rows of data continues to be added, it becomes an administrative task to update which is what I'm trying to avoid.

I'll submit a Enhancement Request as I think this Trigger could be a good addition.
