What am i doing wrong with this

I just cant seem to work out why im getting the #Invalid Operation.... what am i not seeing....

=IF({Copy of Contract Variation Form Range 1} = "[Contract ID]1", "true")

=IF({Copy of Contract Variation Form Range 1} = "[Contract ID]1", "true", "false")

Neither work... please help

What is the range, Copy of Contract Variation Form Range 1?

Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)

When a Variation requests come to one sheet, when it is recieved i want the contract management sheet to be checked (checkbox) as marked to notify a variation is in progress.

It has to recognise the contract ID from the variation sheet and align to the contract managment sheet...

Hope this explains my situation..

You'll need to either use a VLOOKUP or combination of an INDEX/MATCH structure to make that work.
