I saved a sheet as a template and entered information about updates I made into the optional template description field. I cannot find the text I entered anywhere. Where does that information go?
The text description—for some reason—isn't surfaced in the application anywhere. I'll get your vote down for a way to surface this description in the app on our enhancement request list for further consideration.
In the mean time, you may want to make a new template that contains your description in a cell at the top, or in a comment.

IMO:
As the text is not specific to a row, it could go into a sheet level comment.
It could also go into the Sheet Properties, but that would be a new feature.
