Copy row from ingest sheet to specific category sheet
Process starts with a form, and information is added to main sheet. The forms allows the user to select a category and want to copy that row information to a separate category sheet and keep the information in the main sheet. Do not want to copy row information multiple times to the category sheet (this is the behavior I currently get with automation). If the information is updated in either the main sheet or category sheet the changes are made in the other sheet. For example, change made the category sheet entry would show up in the main sheet entry. The form currently has 5 different categories.
Looking for help to make this work, if possible.
Thank You.

Hi @Frank Smith ,
You would need to use cross-sheet formulas and a VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH structure to make it work.
Would that work?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Andree,
Thank you for the suggestions, and I'm familiar with both VLOOKUP and Index/Match and use them already to some degree but not sure how they will address my problem.
Example: Form is filled out and information populates into the main sheet with a name and category. I want the information just entered to go into a separate sheet by category. The first issue is how to get the new information into the category sheet, a copy row automation works but copies it into new, even if the name was already in the category sheet. If I can keep the names unique then I can use vlookup and index/match to fill-in the other area, this is not my problem. If I change the category sheet and edit the information, the formula will be lost and the main intake sheet will not be up to date.
I hope that explains my situation and provides some better insight into what I'm trying to accomplish.
Thanks

Can you maybe share some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)
