COUNTIFS NON Blank Question

I have two columns, "Assigned To" and "Date Entered". What I want is to count blank "Date Entered" cells that are assigned to a specific person. Is this possible?

You would use something along the lines of...

=COUNTIFS([Assigned To]:[Assigned To], "John Doe", [Date Entered]:[Date Entered], @cell = "")

Thanks Paul, that worked. I did have to make a change to it since I was putting it in a metric sheet but it got me what I needed. Thanks again.
