Is it possible to remove the source sheet link from automated email notifications?
Several times a day I get requests to share a source sheet to a user who received an automated alert. Since the body text is small and the source sheet link if big and in a different color, i can understand why they are clicking on it. I have sent out education but it still happens.
Is it possible to remove the source sheet link from automated email notifications?

Hi,
Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment, but it's an excellent idea!
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment
I'd recommending adding a help text that describes where they should click.
Would that help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

I too would benefit from this. We need to direct people to another form to provide additional information based on their response. I do not want them to be guided to the sheet where we collect the intake information. I tried to use the link provided so that I could also request this but it did not work. :(

The link should work, but you have to be logged in or log in to your Smartsheet Account to see it.

@alcapps - I've requested this a couple times via enhancement requests. I think that even if the link was moved to the bottom of the sheet would make a difference in the number of requests I get.
It's helpful to know what sheet the notification came from, but I too have a number of people that request access that will not be getting it!
-
I need this enhancement too! Externals do not have to see the sheet, the notification email should suffice. The formatting is also terrible! Table in yellow, the link to the worksheet? PLEASE remove this!
-
I also need the capability to remove/customize the link in the notifications. Some implementations use the reports as workflow manager and not the actual smartsheet form. In those cases the link should point to the report.
The enhancement should allow for following:
Remove the source smartsheet link from the notification.
Include link to a smartsheet item or hyperlink.
Thank you,
Simona

Yes, this is definitely something that needs to be fixed! We have people submitting information via a form, and depending on their information, we have an automated email sent to them (mainly stating that they are ineligible). They do not need to access the form or think they can/should be able to access it. Just removing that Sheet link would save so many headaches.

I think this was just solved by Smartsheet: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2479256-customize-the-content-of-your-alerts-and-requests

Hi all!
(@alcapps, @Bretta Candelaria, @S_Karkhoff, @Marilin Campos, @IMS CANS, @Kate Kelley)
MaryAnn is correct, we recently released an update where you can now choose whether or not to send the sheet link with the automated alert. Our Release Notes page has more information, see here!
Keep in mind that if you want to send a message without a sheet link, but you also want some of the row content included in that message, you can add this dynamic data into your message by using specific formatting in your text (see our Help Center article on this, here.)
Cheers!
Genevieve

This enhancement doesn't quite solve the problem. I need to include certain fields in my workflow notice, but don't want to send a link. This enhancement either lets us include information from the sheet (either all columns or select) and includes the link or allows us to just sent a generic message with no information included. Any idea if this enhancement will be rounded out to include the option to include some or all fields, but no direct link?

You can use the Placeholder feature to send the information but not include the link to the sheet.
More info:
Wouldn't that work?
I hope that helps!

This fix is still not optimal. I want to send a update requests to people who do not have access to directly update my sheet, so no point in displaying the row number or providing a link to the sheet.
-
Agreed, I would like the option to include fields, but remove the link altogether. I submitted an enhancement request.
-
This content has been removed.
-
Adding my vote here also... I would like to have the link 'optional' to include in the notification.
Enhancement request sent!
