Assign Numerical Value to Text Field

Good afternoon, I'm trying to assign a numerical value to a text field. I have classes that staff can select to have us instruct. Each class will have a time assigned to it so class A might be 1 hour and Class B 2 hours. When staff select Class B they will also inform us how many students will attend and I'd like to auto-calculate number of students x hours to get total hours instructed.

Class B 2 hours x 60 students = 120 hours total instruction.

Is there a way to assign a numerical value to each class?

    Hi Aaron,

Try something like this. You'd continue the same pattern for the different classes.

    =IF(Class@row = "Class B"; Students@row * 60)

The same version but with the below changes for convenience.

    =IF(Class@row = "Class B", Students@row * 60)

Depending on your country/region, you'll need to exchange the comma to a period and the semi-colon to a comma.

    Did that work?

    I hope that helps!

Be safe and have a fantastic week!
