Calendar Days inactive - please help

We use Smartsheet calendar to schedule in our sales - however the month of january is greyed out and inactive? Cannot add any events in - only way is going back to previous months, adding, then changing the date to january ?
Any ideas how to resolve this issue?

Hello Acorn,
Events can't be directly added to the Calender view at this time but I'll add your vote for this to our enhancement request list for further consideration.
You'll need to switch to the Grid or Gantt views to set your desired task dates, then switch to Calendar view in order to display them how you like.
