I need to set a limit to a column
Hello,
I need to collect info from my team on products we have on Amazon. Below are 2 maximum values for Amazon so maybe if someone tries to enter a higher value, it would give an error message or not allow them to enter it
- Units Per Box: 150
- Total Weight (LBS): 50
So for Unit Per Box, if they enter more than 150 it would allow then, and for Total Weight if they try to enter more than 50 it wouldn't allow. Its just a way for us to avoid errors.
I hope someone can help with a formula.
Thank you
Chichi

Hi Chichi,
You could add a so-called helper column with a formula to change text referencing the units and weight and show an error message. It could also be combined with conditional formatting to change the color.
Try something like this.
=IF([Units Per Box:]@row > 150; "To many units, please update")
The same version but with the below changes for convenience.
=IF([Units Per Box:]@row > 150, "To many units please update")
Depending on your country/region, you'll need to exchange the comma to a period and the semi-colon to a comma.
Would that work?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Hi @Andrée Starå Thanks for the help. For some reason its returning an error message. Not sure why. See screenshot

Happy to help!
Double-check the column names and that you're using the correct formula of the two options.
Can you paste the exact formula and a screenshot showing the columns?

Try removing the : in the formula (like below) or changing the column name to, Units Per Box:
=IF([Units Per Box]@row > 150; "To many units, please update")
Did that fix it?
