Action needed: Add new Smartsheet email domains to your trusted sender list

Hi Smartsheet Community, 

In the coming weeks, we will start a transition to begin using three new email subdomains to send emails generated by our Smartsheet app; such as automated workflows, sharing, conversation notifications and password resets. 

We are making this change to follow the email sending best practice of having separate subdomain names for each distinct sending purpose, which will provide you and your team a better email filtering experience. 

We expect this transition to take about a month, during which you will see emails from the three new domains listed below, and the old domain smartsheet.com. After the transition is over, emails generated by the Smartsheet app will no longer be sent from the main smartsheet.com domain, but please keep that domain on your trusted sender list as well. 

We request that if you have a list of trusted sender domains, please add these new domains, or work with your IT department to get them added:  

• app.smartsheet.com - for notifications such as automated workflows, sharing, and conversations
• info.smartsheet.com - for system emails such as password resets and payment notifications
• system.smartsheet.com - for welcome emails and daily mail 

Adding these new domains as trusted senders will ensure you continue to receive important email notifications from the Smartsheet app to your inbox going forward, and ensure they won’t end up in your spam folder or blocked by spam filters.

@Grady Carroll Thank you for your question! There is not a way to set these emails to come from your own domain at this time, but we do have it on our product roadmap. Please reach out to your account manager for updates - thank you!

For bank institutions it’s different they told me if it doesn’t go into their email then they will not get it. They do have a spam folder where they can accept it but they don’t even see that.

I have many smartsheets and several with workflow email alerts and all them stoped working. I have done that, adding the smartsheet domains and still not working. For us is imperative to receive those alerts, specially one smartsheet used to submit purchase orders.

The alert is supposed to be triggered first when a form is submitted, then another alert is sent to warn that the project manager has assigned the purchase order to someone in our team to take action.

Any help is appreciated.
