Automated Emails - Comments

Hi

I have a process working in Smart Sheet with email notifications at different stages, etc. Is there a way to get he comments added to the row to be shown on the email that gets sent.

For example, I have an email that goes back to a form submitter to say something has been approved but the comments added to the application are not shown on the email. It shows all the fields I have chosen to be displayed (and I have ticked comments field) but they do not appear.

I want the submitter to see all the comments that were added along the way in the email they get sent.

The comments show up at the bottom of the email down below were attachments would show up. Do you have a column named comments in addition to the one with the speech bubble at the left of the sheet?

So I need to add another column for comments? I assumed as I was adding the comments as a displayed field, this would show the comments from the speech bubble column.

Do I need to reference them in another field somehow?

And to be clear, I mean the email that gets sent from the system (Alert a person). This does not show comments from the row entry.

I want to show all comments from the approval process on the email for Alert a Person

the comments automaton will just show the latest comment. I am not sure of a way to automate a full comments string.

Ah, right, I had hoped it would show all comments rather than just the last one, which may be blank. Ok, thanks for the help.

Can anyone else think of a way to get all the comments added at each approval stage into the final alert email that goes to the submitter.

I want them to get all the comments that were made.

To add.

If you want to continue to use the Conversation feature, but show them in a cell/column. The third-party service, Zapier, might be an excellent option for this scenario.

Is that an option for you?

I am also wanting to do this. I do have zapier. Can I have more information on how that set up would work with comments? @Andrée Starå
