Deleting Cell History
Hi SS Users,
So I have been busy setting up a whole lot of sheets, reports and sights - and been testing them extensively before we roll them out to users.
As part of this testing, I have been typing in 'testing data comments - and some random made up stuff' into cells to test formulas, linkages, notifications etc etc.
Problem is, I now want to use these sheets, but most cells have very strang and random cell history trail.....
Is there a way to delete the cell history, so everything starts from scratch?? I did not want to have to rebuild new sheets/reports and sights.
Thanks team!

Hi there,
Maybe clear all contents in cells and then save as New sheet?
Kind regards,
Mark.

if the sheets you have created and tested are now ready to be used and are connected in a workspace you can Save as New and study the menu list of what you want to keep and what you dont, then you should have what you need?
You can do this by Sheet or Folder of connected sheets/ Reports or by Workspace.
Hope that helps?

Thanks guys - worked a charm!

Save as Template would also have worked.

Kylie, Richard, Craig,
I have the same problem that cell history is copied when using the "Save as new" feature... So, which of the entries in the menu should not be ticked in order to not copy the cell history (Screenshot in german language)?

Dietrich,
When I use the Save As New feature, the cell history is NOT copied.
All my checkboxes are checked.
The original post was that she wanted to clean them out and did not realize that Save As New would do that.
It doesn't for you?
Das ist ganz merkwuerdig.

We had a team member accidentally put an admin password in a cell. She didn't realize she did it. Then the alert went to the team about changes to the sheet. No one knows it's an admin pw, but we'd like to remove it from the cell history just in case.
Creating a whole new sheet isn't great for us because we want to keep the cell history of other cells. Just not this one.
Any ideas? TIA
