Adding a date cell a cell is changed

Is there a way to add a date to a row, when a status field is changed? I tried the "Modified (Date)" but that will change whenever any cell in the row is updated. I only want the date to update when the one specific cell changes.

I am not sure if this will work. I have 5 different project sheets I need to set this up on. They do have Request IDs associated with the projects but those IDs are copied into the Children row so each line does not have its own unique ID. Would this method still work? If so, could you explain it a bit further?

Yes, I think we can make it work by adding a so-called helper column with row numbers so each row will be unique.
