Help with Countifs - Summary Sheet

I am wanting to have a shared user be able to input a Startdate and EndDate which is then calculated using Countifs. Is this possible in a Summary Sheet? I get an unparseable error for the code below. Any suggestions?

When referencing Sheet Summary Fields, the same rules apply for square brackets and you use "#" instead of a row number or @row.

[Start Date]#

[End Date]#

The syntax all looks correct. Double check your column names to make sure everything is spelled correctly.
