I created a Smartsheet with all of my team's birthdays and set the automation to post in Teams whenever it is somebody's birthday. The alert showed as just the custom message, not the contents of the cell. any ideas?

If you are using a custom message, have you tried using placeholders?

How do those work? Can I say [Line Item Detail] as the custom message?

You would enter this into your custom message (works for subject and body).
