Smartsheet Wont let me save or taking forever to save

Hello,

I am working on a big project with 70,000 rows so I am splitting it into multiple projects of 8000 rows which has a total cell count of 464,000 I believe which is below the 500,000 limit. I put data in 20 columns all the way down but when I go to save it lags or keeps giving me errors such as lost internet connection or would I like to exit page or wait to see if it responds. I am using google chrome. I am on the 6th one (all are exactly the same except for the actual data value) and it won't let me save although it did let me save with the other ones. Also sometimes it won't say it is saved but if I open it on another tab it did save although the original is still saving. Any idea what can be causing this?

    Are you still having issues?

    I recently had a similar issue in a very advanced solution I developed for a client. I solved it by saving less information/changes each time.

  • @Andrée Starå the funny thing is it was just flat data no formulas. Yea sadly I have to save more often which helps just as long as I don't put too much in at a time. Hopefully they fix these kinds of kinks with the larger sheets soon.

  • If a sheet is slow to load or save, try the following: Log in to Smartsheet from a different browser (for browser requirements, see System Requirements for Using Smartsheet). If using a different browser resolves the issue, switch to a different browser or consider upgrading.

    You could also try logging out, clearing your browser cache and history, then logging back in again.

    I think the reason why it's happening is a combination of Smartsheet, Browser, and computer.

    I'll let you know if I find any pattern.

    I have tried various browsers and had the same issue.


    @Andrée Starå thank you, I had called Smartsheet and they basically just told me to input less data between saves. If you can find a better reason you will be my hero lol.
