Pasting Data Set

Hi,

I have a large data set that I paste into Smartsheet from excel for a Dashboard to populate. When I paste some of the data in that's in 1 cell in excel Smartsheet is splitting it across multiple columns meaning I manually have to amend the data for those rows which is very time consuming.

Hi @Maxine Roberts,

This is probably because most excel files use the merge cells function which doesn't go well with Smartsheet. That is probably where your problem comes from.

What is in the columns from the Excel file that paste to multiple columns?

Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)

Sorry for the delay in replying

The top row is the row I'm having trouble with it splitting the data from the original cell in Excel where it's all combined and the row below is what it should look like because that row of data has pasted in fine
