Automated date field

Hi Smartsheet Community.

I have a checkbox for apporoval and a date field "date approved". Is it possible to fill the date field automatically if the apporval is yes?

Hi Andree,

thank your for your reply. This looks fine, but is not what I was looking for (maybe to complex for me to work on different sheets). I was looking for a simple formula.

The history of each field will be recorded so there must be a way to use that.

May aim is to use that for KPI calculation. I have the automated date whe a new ticket is entered ( a new line in the sheet) and when somebody closes that I will use the datge to calculate how long the ticket was open till approval. I don'T want people to enter dates manually!

Unfortunately, at the moment there isn't any other way except a 3rd party service to lock/store the date value if any changes happens after the change is made.

If nothing changes on the row afterward you could use the System Column, Modified to make it work instead.
