Auto-Alphabetizing Drop Down Options

I'd like for the drop-down and filter options to auto-alphabetize after a user enters or edits the options. Currently, the options stay in the same order they were entered in, so I either need to alphabetize them in my head or outside of the platform for a more readable experience.

Great idea! That would be a great addition to Smartsheet features.

As a possible workaround, you could maybe have a sheet/report where you add the values and then sort them.

Also, a solution that would be perfect for this use-case is the premium add-on, Data Uploader.

Is that an option?

I think you're correct. I don't know of a way to automatically alphabetize a drop down or filter option.

However, one alternative, if it's something that would make a big difference, is Data Uploader. You could create a sheet with all of your lists and sort them alphabetically, then use Data Uploader to update your drop down with that list at a regular time/date.

Thanks! These are definitely options I've considered, but it's such a simple usability enhancement that could be addressed on the back end. Depending on what we're using/creating in the sheet, manually alphabetizing can take up it's own chunk of time that's better spent doing actual work.
