I have started to use a form on a sheet that has not been used for some time, but the submissions are not being added to the sheet. I have waited more than 15 minutes, has anyone else had any issues with this?
Hi @John Foster
Have a look at the bottom of the sheet and also make sure that you don’t have any filters active.
Did that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic weekend!

I have refreshed the page, removed all filters and checked both the top and bottom row, despite the form being set to add at the bottom. I have submitted from an existing and a new form, both of which do not work, I have switched on sending of updates to the user and selected to do so when adding an entry. This still does not work.
Happy to help!
Can you check the Activity Log and see if there are any clues there?
Do you see the submission there?
Thank you, I have checked the activity log, but have not been able
I'd be happy to take a quick look.
Can you maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s)? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, [email protected])
I have shared the sheet with you, many thanks for your assistance with this.
Many thanks for your help with this, sorry I was being silly and not looking down far enough. I did not realise I had blank rows in the sheet.
You're more than welcome!
Easy to miss!
Glad we got it working!

I ran into this same problem yesterday/today. I am helping a colleague with a sheet/form he created, but when I added my new entry via the form, I wasn't seeing it. It was at the way bottom of the sheet, after like 50 blank/empty rows. So I'm guessing the owner of the sheet clicked in those rows or did something where the form input thought there were valid records. Glad it wasn't something more major, I was thinking we may have to recreate the form, which would have been less than ideal.
I am having this problem today. I checked the activity log and it shows that a row was inserted, but it does not show on the sheet. I also checked to make sure I don't have any filters on. I have submitted several test entries using the form and none of them appear on the sheet, but the activity log shows they were inserted.
Never Mind - I found the entries - They were WAY WAY down on the sheet after dozens of blank lines
Has anyone come across a way to prevent the form submissions from populating way down the sheet when using "Add to bottom"?
I always assume operator error and find a fix but this one has me stymied.
I hope you're well and safe!
If all the activated rows except for the last that is populated are deleted, it should add to the next available row.
Doesn't that work?
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

Thank you Andree for the help. It turns out I had a column set to conditionally format zeros to white text, which I use to declutter dense sheets sometimes. Once I fully cleared the rows the form populated properly.
User error strikes again.
Excellent! Easy to miss!

Would it be beneficial to include an option that enables a forms user to complete a form and then initiate a new submission for the same form. Currently, users can navigate back using the browser's back button, but they are required to overwrite all the previous answers, which can be cumbersome.
I have data in Excel that I need to import on a weekly basis into Smartsheet (lets say columns A-F) I would like to have columns (lets say G-H) with formulas. How do I import data each week replacing the previous week's data (only columns A-F) without overwriting the formulas? Is it possible to do this via Datashuttle or…
We had a Latest Comment column but the Column Type wasn't accurate. Showing as a Text / Number type. I tried to resolve this and I get the error "There is already a Latest Comment column in the sheet". To try to resolve, I created another column and deleted the original. However this still hasn't fixed the issue. There are…
